K12 iTunes U
K-12 school material reaches iTunes UPreviously reserved just for college and university material, iTunes U is now opening its doors to content suitable for students between kindergarten and grade 12 as well as their parents and teachers.
Like the post-secondary material, the iTunes material for K-12 includes audio and video podcasts as well as text that gives students additional course material and adults more information about school programs.
The initial launch lineup includents content from school departments in Arizona, Florida, Maine, Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Utah.

Rumor has it that NDE has been working on iTunesU content, according to a reputable source (see Tweets from NECC).

No rumor. NE was among 14 states partenering with Apple on this. Only seven were ready for the release at NECC. Apple has partnered with the State Education Technology Directors Association, SETDA, to provide K-12 education content through iTunes U sites. I hope to have the NE iTunes U site up and running by the start of the 2008-09 school year. Policies and proceedures … blah …

And whenever NDE and/or SETDA are ready for K-12 content provided from a K-12 itself, we at O’Neill Public Schools are ready to start producing it!

Awesome! We will be asking for K-12 content contributions statewide. Our Technology Integration Specialsit Brent Gaswick started employment today. Dedicated staffing to this project and others… yay!
