To me, this word means putting the onus of learning on the learner. Helping them along the way. Helping them use divergent thinking to achieve their goals.
Mission: Create collaborative environments
where capacity is built for learning and leading.
My current title at Educational Service Unit 10 in Kearney, Nebraska is Blended Learning Coordinator. As a Blended Learning Coordinator, I construct blended systems for people to communicate, collaborate, and grow. My current projects include implementing and supporting two-way interactive video systems, supporting VFTs (Virtual Field Trips) for both providers and educators, and showcasing flexible learning spaces. I also help districts determine where they are in terms of a 21st-century learning environment using BrightByte’s Clarity platform. I am also a lead Google Apps Deployment Specialist and trainer for ESU 10. In this role, I was on the team who provided the Great Plains Google summit for Nebraska and surrounding districts as well as a Great Plains Google Education Group (GEG) leader. I am also starting a pilot to build a framework for students interesting in coding and making called the Kearney Area Student Makers. This is a collaborative effort involving ESU 10, AIM Institute, Kearney Public Schools, UNK, as well as community businesses. I also just ended an eight-year run on the NETA board of directors that included roles of President-Elect, President, and Past-President.
